About Me
How it all started
I’m Lucy and in 2023 I made the decision to launch Lucy Victoria Art.
Drawing has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. It was my favourite subject at school and I am so grateful to my Art teachers for their enthusiasm, passion and introducing me to the art world. I have always loved drawing animals. Dog’s noses, different fur types and cat’s eyes excite me. Animals are so full of character and being able to capture their individual personality and presenting their portrait to their owner is a feeling like no other.
I was fortunate to grow up with the most loving Golden Retriever, three cats and two rabbits, and so animals have always been a big part of my life. My husband grew up with four dogs, and we always knew we wanted a dog to join our family. Our Toy Poodle called Pip is our newest addition and she is adored by us all. She is lovingly known as ‘little darling’ by my two young boys and they both have such a lovely bond with her.
I grew up in Buxton and I made the permanent move to Leeds in 2011. I love everything about Yorkshire and I am very proud to call it home.

My Studio
Oil paints were always my preferred medium when I was younger, however since I was introduced to pastels over a year ago, I really haven’t looked back. I love everything about pastels, the beautiful depth they give to a portrait, the vibrancy of the colours, and the level of detail I can capture.
